6 Month Check up
Today was Ethan's 6 month check up. There was a nurse being trained and so it took longer to do everything. She couldn't get the scale to work so he got mad. We had to take all of his cloths off so they could get an accurate weight. So he was just laying there in a diaper. I'm sure he was cold. Then she measured his length. By the time she got to measuring his head he decided he didn't like her. Poor nurse. I guess she is used to doing infants that don't roll over and wiggle to get away. Then the doctor had to check him over and he decided he didn't like that either. Then the nurse came in to give him his shots. He had one liquid orally. Then three different shots in his little thighs. He REALLY didn't like that. I felt so bad, he was so upset. So then we left and went to the window to check out. They had a bucket of suckers for the kids after the appoinment. I opened one up and gave it to him. I thought he had deserved it. He was probably way too young to have one. But I thought hey if anyone deserves one, he does. He stopped crying when I put it in his moth. As you can see he was drooling everywhere. All over me and him. But he was happy for a moment. The lady at the window said she was suprised at how good he was being, he had just received 3 shots. I told her it was just the sucker. I didn't let him finish it. I threw it away before we went outside. He didn't like that very much. All in all other than the sucker he didn't enjoy this doctor visit. Good thing he won't remember it later. Zach took this picture for me before we left.
